Large, complex cloud environments tend to accumulate unused services, unclear ownership and limited visibility of where money is being spent. In a government setting, savings also have to be achieved without affecting reliability, security or compliance.
In this engagement, the objective was to reduce cloud cost in a way that delivery teams could sustain, and to leave the department with better visibility and governance than it started with.
